A string of consistent performances has been rewarded, with Legend Rules wining the BM60 (1200m) at Kilcoy today.
A smart getaway saw Legend Rules, ridden by Matthew Powell, quickly take up the runner after the first 100m.
Despite a small field of six taking part, Legend Rules was kept honest in front with race favourite, the Annabel Nesham-trained Spicy Sonic, sitting half a length away in second.
Racing inside the final 600m, Spicy Sonic forced the issue and stuck his head in front.
From the point, the leading pair came away from the remaining quartet to fight out the finish, where Legend Rules refused to give in and prevailed in a photo finish.
It was Legend Rule’s second career win from fifteen starts, and with five minor placings also to his name, his career prizemoney now stands at over $60,000.00.
