The cancellation of the Sunshine Coast meeting last Sunday due to a severe downpour, has provided Kokopo Kitty with the a valuable Metro win at Eagle Farm today, taking out the BM 70 (1200m) QTIS bonus race on the card.
“It was the plan to run her on Sunday, but when it was washed out, we put in a late nom for today,” said winning Trainer, Louise White.
“I’m more comfortable with her at home (Sunshine Coast) as she jumps brilliantly at Caloundra, but always slow away when we travel her, for some reason.”
“She’s going through the Broodmare Sales, and that’ll be a said day, but at leaset she’ll have a metro win on her resume.”
Jockey Tiffani Brooker said of the win – “She wasn’t great away, but was able to push up and get a good run, settling a bit closer (than last start). Thought I had them all the way up the straight but not sure across the line.
“She (Kokopo Kitty) can be a bit of brat, so full credit to Louise for managing and training her so well, she can be a tricky horse.
The win was Kokopo Kitty’s fifth of her career and took or stakes earnings to $120,000.00.
