Kind Wish has recorded her maiden victory at the Sunshine Coast today, winning the Maiden (1400m) with a strong on-pace effort.

Well supported in betting after a close second in town at her previous start, the former kiwi galloper was pushed forward by jockey Jake Bayliss in the early stages, to take up a position at the leader’s hindquarters as the field settled down through the first furlong.

There’s she stayed and as the field turned for the run to the judge, Kind Wish was travelling well and as the raced inside the last 200m, got the better of the leader before holding under strongly late, to register a head win.

Trainer Louise White has been really happy with the way the 4yo daughter of The Bold One, has settled into life in Queensland, since coming across from the Tasman.

“She’s only been with since the start of the year, but has progressed really well,” White said.

“This was only her third start with us, to get to a win, and a close second start before, has been a really good start,”
