With not a placing to name to her name in twelve previous starts, and having bled at her the last of them, not many would have given La Boadicea much hope of returning to the races, let along winning.

However Louise White took on the 6yo mare who, by Louise’s own admission, needed ‘some patching up’ and has produced La Boadicea at her first for the stable, to record a satisfying 4.75 lengths at Ipswich.

Queensland’s leading jockey Jeff Lloyd jumped the Easy Rocking mare straight to the front where she travelled under a good hold until the pair reached the home-turn.

It was then that Lloyd gave La Boadicea her head and has they raced past the furlong pole, she had established a two length advantage, a margin that only continued to extend further the closer they got to the winning post.

Congratulations to her owner, Carina!
