After two runs back from a spell Tolai Meri was ready to hit her straps and at the Sunshine Coast today, she did just that!
Taking advantage of the inside gate, Jockey Ryan Moloney placed Tolai Meri in the box-set as the field settled down in the 1400m Class 1, third on the fence behind the leading pair.
Straightening for the run home, Moloney eased out three wide and urged Tolai Meri after the leaders who were two lengths in advance.
There was still some work to be done as the passed the final furlong marker but Tolai Meri – who has come back a more experienced race-horse, knuckled down to her task well and on the line, had scored a narrow victory.
“It was a good win,” Trainer Louise White said after the race.
“She showed some real positive signs to win today and will be able to go on with it.”
